General Services Division
Facilities Management
The mission of Facilities Management is to
deliver electrical, mechanical, maintenance, energy management, fire protection,
horticultural, custodial, technical, training, project management, safety and
building renovation services for state owned buildings in the most efficient manner.
Facilities Management maintains and operates 88 state public buildings owned by the
S.C. State Budget & Control Board and other Agencies. These include the S.C. State
Capitol
(State House), Columbia Mills Building (State Museum & Department of Revenue),
Department of Health and Environment Control, Employment Security Commission, and the
Governor's Mansion Complex. These Facilities are cared for under a preventive
maintenance program developed by Facilities Management.

Facilities Management consists of teams that deliver a variety of building and related services. Each
team has a leader who works with team members in the
field to be sure that jobs are performed promptly and accurately. Facilities Management is one of the
Service Centers that make up the General Services Division.
The Assistant Director reports directly to the General Services Director.
